Regional Land Transport Plan for Northland 2021-2027

The Regional Land Transport Plan 2021-2027 (this plan or the RLTP) is prepared by the Regional Transport Committee under the provisions of the Regional Land Transport Amendment Act 2003. It is a requirement that every six financial years, each regional council must ensure the relevant regional transport committee prepares a new regional land transport plan. The plan must be reviewed every three years.

This transport plan represents a huge effort from the national, regional and district authorities, government and other agencies to obtain the best outcomes for Te Taitokerau from the funding available.

Improving road safety and creating efficient road and freight connections is critical for the wellbeing of our region.

This plan supports the drive for safer roads, safe transport movement of freight, and tourist visitors we expect over the coming years.

The Regional Transport Committee is consulting on the Regional Land Transport Plan (RLTP) review for Te Taitokerau from 16 February – 15 March 2024. You can find all the details on how to have your say at: www.nrc.govt.nz/transportplan
