Regional bus services

Several companies provide regular scheduled passenger bus and coach services to, from and around the Northland region.

InterCity operates regular bus services between Auckland and destinations around Northland, including Whangārei, Paihia, Kerikeri and Kaitaia. Buses to Auckland connect with services around New Zealand.

Kaipara Community Health Trust Shuttle

The Kaipara Health Shuttle assists locals who have difficulty accessing health services both locally and in Whangarei.

Te Wai Ora Coachlines (Whangārei – Dargaville)

Servicing Dargaville to Whangarei daily, Monday to Friday (freight service is also available).

Until further notice the 10.30am Whangarei to Dargaville and the 12.30pm Dargaville to Whangarei services, have been cancelled due to lack of patronage. The afternoon bus does not start or stop at The Whangarei Hub.

Te Wai Ora Coachlines Ltd is a private bus company and does not receive any Council or Government funding.

Whangārei Coastal Commuter – Whangārei to Tutukaka & return

Whangārei Coastal Commuter runs a daily dive shuttle primarily for dive trips, but is also available to the general public.  This runs from locations around Whangarei to the Tutukaka Marina and back again in the afternoon.

This service is available for advance bookings only.

Pick up and drop off can be anywhere in the Whangārei City area, Glenbervie or on the Tutukaka Coast.
