Northland Regional Council (NRC) have requested NIWA review all historical monitoring and modelling data for Northland and formulate a monitoring plan for PM2.5 across their five regional designated airsheds (Whangārei, Marsden Point, Kerikeri, Dargaville and Kaitāia). This plan will allow each area to be screened for potentially elevated PM2.5 concentrations in anticipation of a National Environmental Standard for PM2.5 being introduced in the near future.
