Design a Bus Back winners announced
Several local Enviroschools took part in the CityLink Whangārei "Design a Bus Back" Competition.
This competition, run for the first time this year, asked primary-aged tamariki to design a "bus back" for a CityLink bus, to show why catching the bus was better for the environment.
There were hundreds of entries - both online and from schools - giving the judges a very difficult task, as the designs were of such a high-standard. The winners were announced on 17 November:
Winner: Amay Dignon, Age 9, Hurupaki School
Highly Commended: James Gibbs, Age 7, Onerahi School
Highly Commended: Alexis Cossey, Age 10, Morningside Primary
The winner’s design is now printed on a CityLink bus and NRC are currently displaying as many entries as possible in Reception at Water Street and at the Rose Street bus station.
