The Northland Regional Council has been successful securing $1.7million for erosion control funding over four years from the Ministry for Primary Industries’ Hill Country Erosion Programme.

Nationally the government has allocated $25 million to 14 regional erosion control programmes for the next four years starting July 2023.

This means Northlanders can apply for funding from now until late 2026, depending on what their project entails.

All funding will be managed through the council’s environmental fund process, including ranking projects according to best environmental benefit and to meet the ministry’s targets.
