LAWA - Land Air and Water Aotearoa

The Northland Regional Council is part of a website displaying the results of water quality monitoring for rivers throughout the country.

The website, Land, Air, Water Aotearoa (LAWA), is a partnership between New Zealand's 16 regional and unitary councils, the Ministry for the Environment (MFE), Cawthron Institute and Massey University.

A New Zealand first, LAWA displays water quality state and trend information for more than 1100 freshwater monitoring sites, giving you access to all of the country's water quality monitoring in one place and in an easy to understand format.

Air quality

The website has expanded and now shows data on the air that we breathe on top of existing information on New Zealand's other most valuable natural resource, our water. Real-time data for monitored towns throughout the country is now available via the LAWA website.
