Tukua mai ōu whakaaro! Have your say on our user fees and charges for the coming year.

We review our user fees and charges each year to make sure they reflect current costs, ensure legal compliance and avoid charges becoming out of date.

Here’s what we are proposing:

  • A baseline inflation adjustment of 2.6 %.
  • An increase to the water use annual returned charge for paper and electronic records.
  • A simplified single charge for field test charges. 
  • Minor wording updates to ensure clarity and consistency.  

Our Draft User Fees & Charges 2025/26 document outlines the proposed updates we’re seeking feedback on.

Normally we consult on user fees and charges alongside our Annual Plan. This year we’re not consulting on the Annual Plan as the work programme set out in our Long-Term Plan in 2024 – and consulted on widely – remains largely unchanged.

Recognising the ongoing financial challenges for our communities, we are working towards a 0% increase in our total rates take for the Annual Plan, which will be finalised mid-year.
