Hearing of submissions

Hearings for the Draft Annual Plan will be held at the following venues:

Dargaville Hearing

• Tuesday 17 May at 1pm

• Wednesday 18 May at 1pm

What is the Draft Annual Plan?

The main purpose of the Annual Plan is to provide updated financial information on the budget and rates for the 2011-2012 year, and to offer you, the community the opportunity to help determine where and how the budget is spent.

The Annual Plan 2011-2012 identifies any changes or additions to the financial information included in the Northland Community Plan 2009-2019 for the 2011-12 financial year.

For further detail it is important that this Draft Annual Plan is read in conjunction with the Northland Community Plan 2009-2019.

The Council has a number of new proposals for your consideration that were not known at the time the last ten year plan was developed in 2009. These include the redirection of investment income proposal and two new river management rates in Whangarei and Kaeo-Tauranga Bay.

The Council is also consulting on amendments to the Navigation, Water Transport and Maritime Safety Bylaw Charges 2010 (included in the Charging Policy Summary below); the Navigation Safety Bylaw 2007 and the Dangerous Dams Policy.  The bylaws are included in the Draft Annual Plan and all the documents are available separately below.

Every household in Northland will receive a copy of the Summary during the week 4-10 April.
