Weather forecast information
General weather forecasts are broadcast by Northland radio stations. Specialist marine weather information is available from maritime radio stations.
Remember that forecasts are only the best prediction available at any given time.
Recreational boating forecast
Visit www.metservice.com/national to get your local marine weather forecast. Scroll to the bottom of that page to download MetService apps, including the free MetService Marine (Coastal Areas) app.
Local area forecasts and current wind conditions are also broadcast continuously by Coastguard

Weather forecasts and safety information are broadcast for all areas of Northland daily.
VHF channels 67, 68, 71
Forecast times: 0533, 0733, 1033, 1333, 1733, 2133 hrs
Real-time weather and wave data collected through Northport’s telemetry system includes wind speed and direction, water and air temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, tidal levels, rainfall, wave height, wave period and wave direction.
