Kia ora tātou katoa, I’m Peter‑Lucas Jones, Chair of Te Rūnanga Nui o Te Aupōuri and the National Iwi Radio Network. Recently, Time Magazine named me one of the world’s 100 most influential people in artificial intelligence.

I have over 20 years of governance experience across iwi, public, and private organisations and have served one term on the Northland Regional Council. My skills include financial oversight, risk management, iwi leadership, Treaty partnership, and data governance that supports better decisions for our communities.

I’m standing for re‑election to advance energy resilience and climate action so our mokopuna thrive. I also want to build a stronger regional economy by investing in transport, digital networks, and infrastructure that create opportunities for whānau.

Many tell me protecting tomorrow means caring for Papatūānuku—our land, waterways, coasts, and native habitats. I back this vision and will keep listening to our people.

Nāku noa, nā Peter‑Lucas Jones
