Colin (Toss) Kitchen MNZM, married to Raina (Nee Williams) from Kaeo, with two daughters Trina and Shelley. Residing between Tokerau Beach and Te Ngaere Bay. His Governance experience is vast, serving 4 terms with FNDC, the NDHB and 1 term with NRC. Toss served 10 years as Chairperson of Northland Civil Defence. He is seeking re-election to the NRC after a 3-year break as he believes the NRC Governance structure is broken with Councillors in-fighting with 2 fractions evident. With his experience within the sector he believes that he has the ability to get things back on track. Following on from Central Governments scrutiny, Northlands territorial authorities must work more seamlessly together and maybe become a Unitary Authority with a cap put on constant rate increases. Colin is a member of the Whangaroa fishing club, Kerikeri RSA, and Kerikeri squash club, increasing his community engagement.
