Frequently asked questions

What can I pay?

The online payment service can be used to pay any invoice that you have received from the Northland Regional Council.

It cannot be used to pay any charges that have not yet been invoiced.

What cards can I use?

The service is only available to Visa and Mastercard holders.

How much does it cost?

The service is provided by the Bank of New Zealand (BNZ). The BNZ charges a 2.49% service fee or a minimum of $1.00 (payable to BNZ) for each transaction.

The service fee is calculated automatically and displayed on the input form. (You will need to tab to the next field - after you have input the amount you wish to pay - or left click your mouse to see the service fee amount). Please ensure you have reviewed this service fee and are happy to be charged it before you click on the submit button.

If you change your mind, click on the cancel button (before you click on the submit button) and your transaction will be cancelled. You may then to choose to pay by another payment method.

The invoice amount paid to NRC and the service fee paid to BNZ will appear as two separate transactions on your receipt and your credit card statement.

What should I do if I think I am entitled to a refund?
