The role

We have a vacancy for a permanent full time Environmental Monitoring Officer based in Whangārei. The primary purpose of the position is to undertake compliance monitoring of resource consents, permitted activities, monitoring under National Environmental Standards and the investigation of environmental incidents and related enforcement.

The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively with our external customers and stakeholders on a range of environmental monitoring topics along with the ability to lead and make decisions on a range of compliance and enforcement matters.

What you will bring

Excellent communication, interpersonal and computer skills are essential. Sound knowledge of the Resource Management Act and Regional Council monitoring functions is an advantage along with experience in the preparation, implementation and management of monitoring programmes.
