The Northland Regional Council has a vacancy for Water and Waste Monitoring Manager. The purpose of the position is to oversee environmental compliance monitoring, primarily land use activities, (e.g., earthworks and vegetation clearance, quarry and forest harvesting monitoring), discharges (sewage and trade/industrial) and water take consents. The position is with the Council’s Compliance Monitoring team within the Regulatory Services Group and is based in Whangarei.
The successful applicant will have the following:
- A relevant tertiary qualification;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Experience with the Resource Management Act, particularly related to enforcement actions;
- Excellent interpersonal and public presentation skills; and
- Management experience.
