Biosecurity Specialist - Marine

A full-time position has arisen in the Biosecurity department of the Northland Regional Council for a Biosecurity Specialist - Marine. The purpose of this position is looking at more strategic ways of managing marine pests and their impacts into the future.
The successful applicant will have the following:
- A tertiary qualification in marine biology/ecology or a related science degree (preferably post-graduate qualification)
- Sound verbal and written communication skills
- Relevant diver qualification (preferably CoC certified)
- Excellent interpersonal and public presentation skills.
The preferred applicant will also have experience with the Resource Management Act and/or Biosecurity Act or other relevant legislation– particularly related to enforcement actions.
