Our Biodiversity team, is looking for a recent graduate or someone who is ready for their next career move. You will be working in both the office and the field, facilitating a range of lake water quality improvement projects including pest fish and water-weed control, grass carp removal, lake catchment nutrient mitigation and aquatic plant aquaculture. Our team will be working closely alongside mana whenua hapu and iwi on delivery of this work and on the development of cultural environmental health monitoring indicators and a protocol for future work together. We will also be working through the Enviroschools programme in environmental education and involvement.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Tertiary qualification and experience in environmental science or similar field preferred.
- Knowledge of freshwater biodiversity and freshwater pests.
- Display creativity, innovative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with the Northland Region preferred.
- Proven ability to personally deliver high quality outcomes with a professional, courteous, and enthusiastic attitude, and a team player.
- Experience in working with Māori and an understanding of Mātauranga Māori.
