Aquaculture Management Area Documents notified under the Local Government Act (LGA)

Alongside the notification of Proposed Plan Change 4 under the Resource Management Act, the Council invited feedback on the following documents under the Local Government Act:

View "Use and Value" maps and "Aquaculture Evaluation" maps

These documents are internal decision-making tools that will help the Council decide whether a request for an Invited Private Plan Change (IPPC) to establish an Aquaculture Management Area should be publicly notified.

Additionally, the maps will be used as one tool in the evaluation of plan changes. The Use and Value Maps and Aquaculture Evaluation Maps are ‘living documents’ and will be reviewed and updated to reflect new information.

To enable these to be reviewed and updated as needed, the documents will not be included within the Regional Coastal Plan for Northland. Therefore the consultation and decision-making process will be carried out in accordance with the Local Government Act 2002. In accordance with the Act, all the above documents form the ‘Statement of Proposal’.  A ‘Summary of the Statement of Proposal can be requested from the Coastal Planning Team.
