What is it?

The Northland Regional Council’s Regional Transport Committee must prepare a Regional Land Transport Programme (RLTP) every three years under the Land Transport Management Act 2003.

This is the first Regional Land Transport Programme for Northland which takes a broad 10 year view of projects, but also focuses in greater detail on the next three years (2009-2012). The programme is Northland’s collective bid for funding assistance from the National Land Transport Fund, via the New Zealand Transport Agency.

It details:

Local roading projects proposed by the Far North, Whangarei, and Kaipara District Councils
State Highway projects proposed by the New Zealand Transport Agency
Strategic projects and public transport matters dealt with by the Northland Regional Council

We are now seeking public comment on the Draft Regional Land Transport Programme for 2009/2012.

Summary of submissions

The proposed Regional Land Transport Programme 2009/12 for Northland has been notified for public submissions. Submissions closed on Monday 20 March 2009.

The Northland Technical Advisory Group has prepared a summary of submissions and a draft recommendation for each submission to assist the Hearings Committee when it hears submissions on Tuesday 12 May 2009.
