Maritime radio

Maritime New Zealand provides a continuous distress and safety listening watch on VHF Channel 16.

Safety information and weather forecasts are broadcast for all areas daily at the following times on VHF Channel 67, 68 or 71.

  • 0733 hrs
  • 1033 hrs
  • 1333 hrs
  • 1733 hrs
  • 2133 hrs

Other sources of the marine forecast include:

Tide tables booklet

We produce a handy Tide Table booklet that provides an annual calendar of high/low tide times in Northland.

  • pick one up from one of our regiional offices
  • phone 0800 002 004 and we will post one out to you
  • send your address details by email to mailroom@nrc.govt.nz and we will post one out to you
