Become an Enviroschool
Step 1:
Contact Susan Karels or Teresa Rudgely at the Northland Regional Council or Carol Young (secondary) or Julie Holt (primary) at Team Solutions for more information.
Find out what it means to be an Enviroschool and how the programme can be implemented into school life.
Step 2:
Talk to your staff and Board of Trustees
Step 3:
Decide where your school wants to start:
- Explore the Enviroschools programme
- Implement an environmental project for learning and action
- Create a whole school vision map
- Form an Envirogroup
- Apply for an Enviroschools Award
- Engage students in a whole school process
- Develop the curriculum
- Develop policies, care codes and strategies
- Identify and strengthen community partnerships
Where a school chooses to start will depend on the support available and the school's own situation.
