Environmental Curriculum Awards

We encourage great environmental education in the North with our $15,000 annual Environmental Curriculum Awards fund.

What is an Environmental Curriculum Award?

An Environmental Curriculum Award provides funding to help schools educate children “in and about and for” the environment.

Your school could win up to $2,000. 

How do we apply?

Step one:
Choose a project

Step two:
Prepare the following information:

  • a project timeline
  • a teaching and learning unit plan
  • a detailed budget (your budget needs two quotes for each budgeted item).

You will also need to show how your efforts are linked to Northland Regional Council's sustainable management goals and the Ministry of Education Guidelines for Environmental Education in New Zealand Schools curriculum document. (See examples below).

Step three:
Complete an application form and send it to us with the required documentation.
