BackgroundWhen JV Farms discovered that about 54% of the Whangarei District flowed into the Kaipara Harbour and contributed a significant delivery of sediment, nutrients and other contaminants, they wanted to make a difference and act. They made a commitment to the Kaipara Harbour when they joined in the multi-stakeholder partnership of the Integrated Kaipara Harbour Management Group.
This field day looks at the power of partnerships in the face of many challenges, being environmental, business, social and community. We will discuss the role of how kiwi and tuna (eel) restoration brought a community together and have a farm walkabout showcasing some solutions that have assisted JV Farms and the Kaipara Harbour in meeting these multiple challenges. We promise you will enjoy the BBQ too! See you there.
