Household hazardous waste

Old or leftover paint tins can be left at the depot.We accept waste paint. We operate a household hazardous waste drop-off depot in Whāngārei at:

Kioreroa Road
Whāngārei

 

Our household hazardous waste drop is located at the end of the glass, can and paper recycling station.

 

We will accept the following:

  • Used lubricating oils (maximum of 5 litres)
  • Agricultural chemicals, garden sprays and powders
  • Paint
  • Automotive batteries
  • Animal remedies
  • Pool chemicals

 

We do not accept:

  • Radioactive wastes
  • Explosives including ammunition
  • Infectious substances
  • Hazardous substances in broken or leaking containers
