Our coast
Our region's most stunning natural feature is our coastline and harbours. From the wild west coast to the secluded sandy beaches and covers of the east coast, Northland has a diverse coastline. We also have 13 harbours and two marine reserves.
We have a number of roles when it comes for caring for our coast and harbours. As well as planning, consents and monitoring, we are also the Regional Harbourmaster for region, setting harbour bylaws and responsible for oil spill response.
